With a combined experience of over 40 years in the field of dentistry, the team of professionals at Riverside Dental Centre has the expertise necessary to offer patients comprehensive services to improve dental health. Dr. Tracy Dawes B.Sc., D.D.S.
GENERAL DENTIST
Dr. Dawes graduated as a general dentist from the UofA in 1997. She was mentored by Dr. Huff in 2000 completely changed her life.
Dr. Dawes loves that dentistry is as much of an art as it is a science. She enjoys creating beautiful functional smiles that make people want to smile.
She is heavily involved in Invisalign for the last 7 years. Clear removable appliance therapy (Invisalign), for Dr. Dawes, is about restoring proper function for patients, the side effect happens to be a beautiful smile. She loves chatting and talking with her patients, the connection she gets with long standing relationships is what brings her to work every day, that and the opportunity to meet so many new people.
She has learned so much in the last 8 years since I joined a study club started by Dr David Galler and the American Academy of Clear Aligners.
She has been trained in a newer technique that builds teeth up with a bonding material. The result looks like crowns or veneers, but it is very conservative as no tooth structure is removed. She is a member of the Spear learning institute and an active member of the study club.
She has been trained in neuromodulators(cosmetic injectables, xeomin and dysport) since 2014 for both therapeutic TMJ treatment and all cosmetic treatment. She also offers dermal filler for cosmetic treatment of lips, cheeks, jowls.
Dr. Dawes is a pinnacle in the Red Deer community, she supports many sports programs, including minor hockey, ringette, volleyball and softball. Giving back through local charities such as the Festival of Trees Emerald Sponsor, Canada Winter Games major sponsor/ Waskasoo Mascot sponsor, Saving Grace Animal rescue, Central Alberta Child Advocacy and multiple school programs. She has also been involved with Plan international since 2002.
While she not at the office she enjoys spending time with her family, husband Brian and two kids Connor and Julia (both in university) and her dog, Rosie.
Dr. Dawes lives an active lifestyle, running, cycling, hiking, wakesurfing. Summer is her favourite season. She loves to read and listen to audiobooks. Recently she restarted her hobby of calligraphy, I haven’t done since her teenage years.

Dr. Brianne Lamey -BMSc, DDS
GENERAL DENTIST
Dr. Lamey graduated from the University of Alberta in 2012
Dr. Lamey is known for her excellent work with clear removable appliance therapy (Invisalign) and creating beautiful functional smiles for her patients. She has been trained in a technique that builds teeth up with a bonding material that gives a similar result to Veneers or Crowns without removing any natural tooth structure at all. She is working on finishing up a course currently and will soon offer Healthy Start, which is a non invasive way to treat children who have sleep disorder breathing issues and straighten teeth without braces.
She enjoys building relationships with her patients and her coworkers. Dr. Lamey is known for having a lot of laughs throughout the day (and her laugh is contagious). She is a member of the ADA&C, AACA (academy of clear removable appliances)
She enjoys hanging out with her 2 dogs and cat. She loves travelling to new countries and experiencing different parts of the world but also has a love enjoying her own backyard in Alberta and spends a lot of time hiking on the weekends.
Dr. Maria Syed – BSc, DDS
GENERAL DENTIST
Dr. Syed graduated from the University of Alberta, Class of 2017.
Dr. Syed practices all aspects of General dentistry, ranging from restorative to surgery to endodontics to pediatrics.
She loves educating and working with all her patients! Every patient is unique and she really loves that every day of her practice is different and she can provide unique, catered care for each one of her patients. Her goal is to make sure they feel comfortable in her chair and are educated on all their treatment options. Dr. Syed is known for making her patients feel comfortable and at ease.
She belongs to the Alberta Dental Association and Canadian Dental Association
Outside of work, she loves travelling, painting, staying active, and spending time with her family and friends. Dr. Syed is a wife and a mother to two gorgeous little boys.
She supports Kindness in Action – A dental organization that provides free dental care in multiple countries.
Dr. Miranda Wong
GENERAL DENTIST
Dr. Miranda Wong was born and raised in Calgary. She attended the University of Calgary and received her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences. Moving to Vancouver, she completed the dentistry program at the University of British Columbia. After graduation, she returned to Alberta and has been residing in Red Deer since 2020.
Dr. Miranda’s involvement with community outreach programs includes traveling to rural areas of Jamaica to provide dental care to the underprivileged. She has also provided volunteer care at low-income community clinics in the Vancouver area.
As a general dentist, Dr. Miranda is passionate about educating people to have a better understanding of their oral health. She believes that each patient has individual needs and enjoys working with people to discover what suits them best. She loves helping people keep their teeth healthy by restoring the function and esthetics of their smiles.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Miranda enjoys traveling to learn about new cultures and new foods. She also enjoys staying active by playing badminton, bike riding, hiking, and snowboarding.
Dr. Devon Lynn
GENERAL DENTIST
Dr. Devon Lynn was born, raised and attended college in Red Deer. He completed his first degree at the University of Alberta with a Bachelor of Science. The next adventure would take Dr. Lynn and his wife Tiffany across the world to study dentistry in Australia. While living abroad, they welcomed two sons into their lives and a third son shortly after returning to Canada.
Dr. Lynn values kindness and honesty as well as the delivery of quality dental care. He believes that he can make a difference in patients’ lives by encouraging them to be active in their treatment decisions and help educate them as to how they can maintain a healthy smile for life. Dr. Lynn is aware that some may feel uncomfortable in the dental environment or find it stressful, and he is happy to explore sedation options with his patients to help them achieve maximum comfort for their treatment.
When not at work, Dr Lynn enjoys spending time with his wife and three sons, rock climbing, snowboarding and cooking.
Dr. Devon Lynn is a registered member of the College of Dental Surgeons of Alberta.

They don't work with INAC (IA) and wouldn't tell me until I got in. Even though I talked to the SAME receptionist before I came in, I could have stayed at work instead. I don't think I need to clarify what it is either. This receptionist should have known because they deal with a lot of insurance companies. Not only that but they HAD MY FILE. What a let down, wasted my time coming here. Do not recommend.

Today I had my first appointment with Dr. Maria Syed and her assistant Bailey, they were both so incredible, I have nothing but positive things to say! By far the best and most comfortable experience I’ve had at the dentist, and this is coming from someone who has a bit of dental anxiety. Dr. Syed is so patient, genuinely kind and really takes the time to make sure you are heard and she thoroughly explains everything/answers all your questions. Update in 2024: Riverside Dental has been my go-to since I was a kid- I am old now, and they’ve never missed a beat! Dr. Syed is absolutely AMAZING—hilarious, professional, and patient enough to tackle my endless list of questions. She’s a pro at easing my anxiety, too. Then there's Breton, the hygienist—she's a gem! Sweet, funny, and so quick that it feels more like catching up with a bestie than a dental appointment. She’s also a wealth of knowledge. And let’s not forget Makenna at the front desk—she’s the memory I wish I had! She keeps everything running smoothly, and she’s a rockstar at it. Yesterday was my second visit to riverside and I had a tooth extraction. They made it very pleasant for a tooth removal. Dr and assistant were absolutely amazing. I phoned to inquire about an emergency dental appointment for this evening. I spoke to a lady on the phone who seemed incredibly helpful who told me that their 4:30 appointment hadn’t confirmed and to come down to the office and they would get me in “right away”- I let her know where I lived so she had an idea of when I would arrive ( about 30 minutes). I packed up my family and drove into Red Deer. When I arrived the receptionist let me know that my appointment was booked for 4:20 and since I was “late” they could no longer get me in this evening. I told her that I didn’t call their office until 4:15 and didn’t get off the phone until 4:20 so I didn’t understand how my appointment was for 4:20. She said there was nothing she could do except book me for the next morning.If you’re new to Red Deer and looking for a dental office- pick a different one.

Loved my experience at Riverside Dental! Everyone was so kind and professional. I recently moved from Kelowna, and the clinic I went to there was beyond excellent, so I was worried I wouldn't be able to find the same level of care in Red Deer (my experience with dentists prior to Kelowna was not good). I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of care at Riverside. Definitely matched, or maybe even exceeded (!) my experience in Kelowna. The clinic, waiting room, and washrooms are all very clean and well taken care of. Wonderful staff, very transparent with information. Had some good laughs with my dental hygienist. Highly recommend this clinic!

I chose this dental office because of excellent Google reviews, so it just makes sense to leave one of my own! Our whole family has had excellent experiences here - including my older son who needed extensive dental surgery, and my younger son who was initially so terrified that he wouldn’t even open his mouth. Cue some incredible technicians - and our dentist Dr. Sayed - who all have a wonderful way with kids, and make a trip to the dentist feel like a fun outing! Excellent service, fun games to warm up the little ones, free warm drinks and a fridge full of other refreshments, prizes, treat bags…you name it. Both of my kids are now big fans of going to the dentist and the entire team at Riverside makes dental work feel like a walk in the park. HIGHLY recommend. ☺️

Wow what a great experience! I had a large filling fall out and needed it replaced quick. The receptionist was awesome and booked me in that same day. My cleaning was the gentlest I've ever experienced, she was super through with making sure my teeth were clean. The hygienists were very kind. And Dr. Breanna was amazing - she didn't try and add things to my treatment plan, just kept things simple and used language that could be understood. When i needed to book my next appointment they took care to make sure it was with the same dentist instead of just any dentist. Overall, I'm insanely happy to have Riverside.

I'm fairly new to Red Deer and was looking to get some dental cleaning done. I feel extremely lucky to have chosen Riverside Dental! Its easy to tell that they take great pride in what they do. Clean facility, friendly staff, and a very positive environment! My hygienist was Shawna. She explains things really well and constantly checks if you're doing okay throughout the cleaning process. I couldn't feel any pain or any discomfort!I'd give more than 5 stars if I could!They also gave me a welcome package which was a really nice gesture. This is a gem of a place! Great people!

Absolutely love this dental office!! Ive been to so many places for assistance with my teeth over the years, and not one dentist has assisted or gone above and beyond with helping me reach my goals for my teeth. I am happy to say this place did just that!! With in a few month I was able to get trusting referrals to help me get closer to fixing my teeth and was able to get so much done within a short amount of time. Dr.Wong is amazing, highly recommend meeting with her. She made sure I knew the process of each step and the game plans for everything moving forward. She even made sure I was comfortable and taught me so much about my teeth. No other dentist has in the past. I went in for fillings and can barely see them (color matches perfectly). The receptionist are very welcoming and very easy to talk to. Even the dental assistants are great. This office made sure scheduling wasn't a hassle. They were willing and able to accommodate setting up appointments around a busy work schedule. I suggest going here before wasting hard earned money and benefits plans elsewhere. Thanks ladies for an outstanding experience, I will be back again soon!

It was awful. During scaling, i did not get a sucker to spit in, i swallowed the scaling bits from my teeth or spit it in a kleenex. I asked for one and she said we dont do that unless its requested. Fluoride was half done. Not impressed as this was my first visit to this place and new to Red Deer. I will try again with a different hygienist and if that continues, i will be finding a new dentist.

My hygenist always makes me confident that her checks of my teeth are very exacting, and besides, she is a most pleasing person, and makes the appt a good experience. The dentists and hygienists here are super nice and very honest. They won't try to push unnecessary treatments on you, but would still give you very good suggestions if you ask for it. Good dentists and hygienists are hard to find!! I would continue to go to this clinic as long as I'm in red deer.

The quality of the service was excellent. Just can’t handle how that I have 2 different benefit plans covering my daughter but I still get a bill to pay. My benefit provider claims that you aren’t following some fee guide. If something isn’t going to be covered, why can’t I be informed of this up front instead of getting the surprise bill afterwards?

I’ve been coming to Riverside Dental for almost 38 years..When I started coming to RD it was on the other side of the river and Dr. Huff owned the practice. Dr. Huff was an amazing dentist and person and he hired amazing staff in all areas of his practice.I met Dr. Dawes after Dr. Huff has hired her as a brand new dentist. She eventually came to own the practice and moved it across the river to where it is now. She’s grown the business too what you see today with 2 hygienist and 4 dentist. It’s amazing how the staff still reminds me of Dr. Huff days as the dentist are all very personable. They make you feel comfortable and are all very friendly. I see my hygienist, Shane, the most, as I get my teeth cleaned every 6 months. I don’t see the dentist very often because I’m lucky and don’t need to see any dentist, my teeth have been very good to me over the last 10 years. I’m not complaining, I’m fast I love it. It goes to shore that if you listen to your Hygienist and your Dentist when it comes to caring for your teeth, it can make your whole body happier.I just had my cleaning and I feel great. Shane is a relaxed hygienist and he makes you feel comfortable during the whole process.I do have to go back to see Dr. Laney as they found a very small cavity, I’ve booked my appointment right away so that it doesn’t get a chance to turn into a big cavity…Thank You to All of the Staff at Riverside Dental, they’re always there when I need therm with a smile on their faces.😊👍🏼

The staff that I’ve met are compassionate and take concerns seriously if you have any like I do when it comes to dental anxiety etc…I only gave it a 4/5 due to being fairly new.

I am typically very anxious attending the dentist and the staff here made it incredible! They explained everything with such kindness and compassion towards my concerns. They also took the time and I never felt rushed as they offered to answer all of my questions. I nearly hugged them when I left!

I went today with an emergency gum pain issue and was seen on very short notice and was given a great and very thorough exam - and was able to get in for a cleaning too! I very highly recommend Riverside dental! Everyone is so nice. I have never been happy to go to the dentist but I am now.

What an amazing dental office !! They treat me much better than my old dentist did. I am way happier now. They listen and understand where my pain is or help me get to a solution.I definitely recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good dentist.I give them 10 out of 10 stars.I just had some work done, had a seizure in the chair and they were so understanding and didn’t rush me.Thank you Riverside Dental Centre for your patience and understanding and help. I've had fillings, root canal's, caps put on, and cleaning done regularly. The Centre is immaculate, staff very friendly yet professional. Staff are always friendly, and very professional. I feel like I am always getting the best care here at Riverside, and feel that they truly listen to me and care about me as patient. The staff know me by face and name which makes me always feel welcome.We have a 9 person household and our whole family enjoys coming here. We trust that we are always in good hands and feel comfortable, and safe. The dentists are absolutely unbeatable with their knowledge, suggested treatment plans, scheduling, and hours. I have always had an irrational anxiety going to the Dentist, even for a check up. I gave Riverside dental a try many years ago and found the experience so positive that sometimes I actually look forward to the ‘break’. I find that the hygenists are gentle, and great at educating, but don’t make you feel like you are in trouble when you don’t floss every day (no, I don’t floss everyday 🙂) My kids also find it a pleasant experience. Staff are so friendly and flexible, warm and gracious. I highly recommend the team at Riverside Dental.

I have been going to Riverside Dental for over 10 years. I have seen a few different dentists over the years and have no complaints. I have recommended numerous friends there and had no question bringing my kids here when they were old enough to start going. My kids LOVE going to the dentist. I have also done invisilign through them and had a great experience. Their dental assistants have always been kind and personable. Definitely recommend.

I love Riverside so much. I switched when I was in middle school after a bad experience elsewhere. I continue to recommend people to switch to Riverside Dental, or nudge them to go there if they’re looking for a new dental office. Big, bright, modern space, friendly staff, and they direct bill to my insurance (Desjardins), which is magical, because it feels like practically no one does.

First time patient at Riverside DentalThis morning, Dr. Brianne worked on a broken molar, and crowned it. I was so happy she could prepare the molar and make the crown in one appointment........it was basically quick and painless!!This afternoon, I went back for a cleaning. The staff are great, and the clinic radiates a "feel good" atmosphere. (I actually look forward to going back......never thought I would ever say that about a dental clinic! 🙂 Thank you for making me feel so at ease.I would highly recommend this place!

I have only been a couple times, for exams, X-rays and a crown and all went well. They have up to date state of the art equipment for taking 3D X-rays, and making your crown right there while you wait so no temp crown and only one appointment! All staff were very nice and helpful and Dr. Brianne showed me all the pictures, equipment and how the crown was made. Highly recommend!

Admin staff are excellent. Easy to book, change times, etc. Reminder emails and texts are easy to use and respond to. Hygienist and dental assistant were fantastic. Thorough, informative, easy to talk to. Dentist was very down to earth and had no problems answering my questions. I’ve had a hard time with dentists in the past, but this place is A+ all the way around.
